If you know me at all, you know how much I LOVE going overboard in the DIY decoration/present/baking/cooking departments for pretty much every single holiday. I love getting crafty for Easter because it really makes me remember that Spring is right around the corner. While usually the weather isn’t nice and toasty yet, there is something about having my favorite flower (tulips) and some pastel colored eggs on the dining room table to give me a glimmer of hope that sunshine, […] Continue reading →
As promised I did not forget about one of the most important aspects of Cinco de Mayo…the drinks! Cinco de Mayo is my favorite holiday for making fun and entertaining drinks, loaded with tequila, rum, and fresh fruit flavors. Tip for making fun drinks healthier: When making fun celebratory drinks at home I always do two things. If a recipe calls for simple syrup (sugar), I replace the sugar with a little bit of agave nectar or truvia. Most of the time one of the two adds the perfect […] Continue reading →
I have a feeling that today is going to be a great day! Remember last week when I wrote about positive energy? Well I am still believing in it and I am determined to bring a positive attitude into today’s day. It’s sunny and has the potential to get kind of warm outside, and we are nearing the end of the work week. What more could we all ask for? Not to mention there are countless candies, sweets, and delicious dinners in our not so distant future with the Easter Holiday quickly […] Continue reading →
Since Saint Patty’s Day is coming up this weekend and I will be spending it in probably the most Irish area of the United States with one of the most Irish people I know (my boyfriend Mike whose friends all call him “Irish” and who loves Guinness more than anyone I have ever met). I have been scouring the web and magazines for great Irish treats to make this Saint Patty’s Day filled to the brim with everything Irish. My book of Guinness Recipes that I picked up with […] Continue reading →
Last night after trading Valentines Day gifts Mike and I went to one of our favorite restaurants for dinner, Estragon. Estragon is a Spanish Tapas restaurant which has great food and a huge wine and beer list. If you have never tried Tapas before you absolutely need to! It is such a fun way to enjoy dinner and a great way to get to sample a bunch of different options from a restaurant’s menu. Basically Tapas means “small plates” and that is exactly how you are served when […] Continue reading →
I love Valentines Day! I always have, even when I didn’t have a boyfriend, because I think that it is wonderful to have a holiday that is completely devoted to love and showing the people you love how much you care about them. Insert Valentines Day haters arguments… Examples: You shouldn’t NEED a day to do something nice for the people you care about. Valentines Day is a made up Hallmark Holiday invented to get people to spend money. Valentines Day makes all the single […] Continue reading →
Christmas time is absolutely my most favorite time of the year. All of my love for baking, cooking, arts and craft, buying people presents gets combined into one month of total fun! I hate how people get so stressed out around the holidays because I honestly really feel like it should be/is just one big party. Whenever I start feeling a little overwhelmed around the holidays I just put on some oldies Christmas music and there is no way that my sour, stressed out mood can last for long. […] Continue reading →
