Eat Simple. Love Yoga
pesto

Even though Spring and Summer have yet to really arrive here in the Northeast, I have been itching to break away from the packaged and canned products from the grocery store and get back to making things fresh like I do mostly all Spring and Summer long. When I got to thinking about one of my favorite Italian sauces, dips, or spreads…I am talking about you PESTO, I realized that this particular item is something which really can be made year round. Since herbs tend to do great […] Continue reading →

paleo for vegetarians and vegans

If you have been reading “Eat Simple Love Yoga” for any length of time you have probably gathered that I tend to follow a primarily vegetarian/vegan diet. I do not eat meat of any kind (ex: chicken, turkey, red meat) and aside from the occasional egg whites I usually stay clear of any dairy products. However, this past summer I did begin to incorporate some fish back into my diet, since I have never claimed to be a perfect anything (please back down critics) when I […] Continue reading →

green juice

I am not entirely sure which side of the sleep spectrum I fall under. While I definitely know I have a tendency to stay up way too late, which I guess would make me a night owl. I also can get going bright and early without a whole lot of boosting. I have never been a coffee drinker and Mike and I sometimes talk about the fact that if neither one of us drink coffee is it necessary to own a coffee maker for our “guests” when we have our own home. While I think the consensus […] Continue reading →

PLU

GMO’s or Genetically Modified Organisms have been causing quite a stir for quite some time. This week however, whole foods came out with an article stating that within the next five years all products sold within whole foods would have to state if they contain any GMO’s. This is really the first time that such a large corporation has made such a stance on the issue of GMO’s and has given its customers the right to choose for themselves whether they want to ingest something […] Continue reading →

Disclaimer: I am not a dietician nor do I have any medical experience or training, this is just information that I have learned through reading on my own and have come to find through my own experiences. I loved artificial sweeteners throughout college and was all for a lower calorie snack or a diet soda to “save calories” but when I was working at a restaurant drinking a lot of tea with equal in it one winter I started getting terrible bouts of vertigo. Vertigo is basically […] Continue reading →

lulu

I submitted a photo in the fall to lululemon corporate when they were asking their guests to share a photo of themselves in lulu clothing and hashtag it #coolracerback. Since I have been working at one of their stores while going through school I now own quite a few of these amazing tanks, so I thought I would enter the photo contest. I definitely did not expect them to choose a photo of mine to feature but low and behold when I went to look up someone on the website the other day and saw […] Continue reading →

nothing worth having

Even though I teach yoga quite a few times a week, over the course of the past six months or so I have let myself get out of shape…at least for my standards. Between school and working three jobs I was averaging 80 hour weeks (no exaggeration) and my training regiment was one thing that totally hit the back burner. Add that to the holidays, birthdays, and an abundance of candy in the back room at my lulu store and I started to feel not so comfortable with how my body was looking. […] Continue reading →

Chia Water

chia water

O My! I am so excited that I discovered how to make this amazing drink! It is so simple, delicious, and makes me feel like I am almost drinking some kind of smoothie rather than a glass of omega 3 enriched water. However, I have been getting quite a few stares when I start gulping down what looks like a jelly filled water bottle with little floating black dots inside. Okay I may not be selling this drink as well as I could, but trust me it is delicious! So long as you aren’t one of […] Continue reading →

green smoothie

I will be the first one to admit that when I first started seeing these green juices and smoothies jumping out all over the place I swore that there was no way they could taste good and the whole juicing frenzy had to be some kind of fad that would go away with time. Well about two years and a vitamix later, juicing seems to be still in full swing and now I am a converted green juice skeptic who loves to see what my beloved vitamix can whip up for me. The keys I have found to juicing […] Continue reading →

Hey Everyone! It has definitely been more than awhile since I have written at this point, but I am finally done with PhD/grad school applications as well as my nutrition pre-requisites and will be able to be back to blogging!! You have no idea how beyond excited I am to have a more manageable schedule that will allow me to get back into the things I love, like this little blog. Something else that is new since I last checked in is that I am now working for a really cool Wellness Consulting […] Continue reading →
