It has taken me a while to even be able to think about how to formulate words around what happened here in Boston on Monday. I still do not think I can really put into words how I honestly feel or what it was like being in Boston that day… Two years ago I woke up and couldn’t believe that today was the day I was going to make one of my dreams come true. It was beautiful, sunny, and just the right temperature, and when I stood at the starting line all I could think about was how […] Continue reading →
Well the New England storm hype is going full speed ahead up here in Boston right now. While I do kind of think that this storm will wind up being a pretty big deal, I never believe anything weather wise here in New England until I see it. On another storm related note…does anyway else not understand why a storm means that it is imperative to flood over to the grocery store and stock up on all of the necessities? I am not talking about water, batteries, and non-perishable canned […] Continue reading →
Hey Everyone! Hope you all had an awesome weekend, I sure did! On Friday night Mike and I made our way into the city for a Red Sox game which always guarantees a good night for me. Since they were playing one of the best teams in baseball and are not doing too hot this year, I didn’t have high hopes for us winning the game, but every night at Fenway is a fun night in my book. Like I predicted the Red Sox lost, but Mike and I had a fun time anyway. Saturday […] Continue reading →
I cannot believe how quickly May flew by and I am so sorry that I have been so MIA these past few weeks! I have had a lot going on lately that has been keeping me from being able to have the time to write, but have made a promise to myself that starting this week I am going to make a point of planning out the time I need to devote to maknwaves, no matter how busy I may be. Since we are a few days into June I decided that I better get on my “Favorite Things: May [...] […] Continue reading →
Today is a really special day in Boston! It is the 100 year anniversary of our beloved and historic Fenway Park. Though generations have come and gone, Fenway Park remains, much like it did the day it opened on April 20, 1912. While some people criticize Boston for not updating the baseball park of the Boston Red Sox, I applaud our city for not giving into the temptations of more money and a modern-day baseball stadium. While our seats may be cramped and sometimes our views obstructed, we […] Continue reading →
While baseball season may have already started, here in New England it doesn’t officially begin until Yawkey Way is packed with street vendors yelling for roasted peanuts and italian sausages, and Fenway Park is filled with Red Sox fans. Some are old veterans to the historic park while others may be there for their very first ball game. Either way here in New England baseball season hasn’t really started until that first pitch has been made in Fenway Park.So today is the day, at […] Continue reading →
It’s baseball season again everyone! Aren’t you excited!! Ahh I love the start of a new baseball season. With so many games ahead of us there is endless possibilities for what the season can bring. Hopefully it wont bring a mega let down like we had last year…so I am going to stay on the positive side and say that we Red Sox are going to have an awesome season, filled more with team camaraderie and winning games, and less fried chicken and beer Ever since I was a little […] Continue reading →
I’m not sure where exactly January disappeared to and now almost half of February! But there is one event from New Years Day that while I know it was SOO long ago I really want to re-cap on. This year Fenway Park opened its gates for Boston residents to come and skate in hour long intervals on New Years Day. Mike wound up coming up with tickets and so on the morning of New Years Day, after a wicked fun night with my sister and her boyfriend, we woke up and set off to go skating on a […] Continue reading →
When I got back from NYC Mike and I decided to go out to dinner in Boston’s North End for a great Italian meal. Out of all the Italian districts in cities across the United States the North End in Boston is by far my favorite in terms of the quality of food and the atmosphere the North End possesses. If you have never made it to the North End in Boston I would highly recommend visiting it the next time you are in the city. We decided to go to La Famiglia Giorgio’s because we […] Continue reading →
