It has taken me a while to even be able to think about how to formulate words around what happened here in Boston on Monday. I still do not think I can really put into words how I honestly feel or what it was like being in Boston that day… Two years ago I woke up and couldn’t believe that today was the day I was going to make one of my dreams come true. It was beautiful, sunny, and just the right temperature, and when I stood at the starting line all I could think about was how […] Continue reading →
Well the New England storm hype is going full speed ahead up here in Boston right now. While I do kind of think that this storm will wind up being a pretty big deal, I never believe anything weather wise here in New England until I see it. On another storm related note…does anyway else not understand why a storm means that it is imperative to flood over to the grocery store and stock up on all of the necessities? I am not talking about water, batteries, and non-perishable canned […] Continue reading →
Hey Everyone! Hope you all had an awesome weekend, I sure did! On Friday night Mike and I made our way into the city for a Red Sox game which always guarantees a good night for me. Since they were playing one of the best teams in baseball and are not doing too hot this year, I didn’t have high hopes for us winning the game, but every night at Fenway is a fun night in my book. Like I predicted the Red Sox lost, but Mike and I had a fun time anyway. Saturday […] Continue reading →
I cannot believe how quickly May flew by and I am so sorry that I have been so MIA these past few weeks! I have had a lot going on lately that has been keeping me from being able to have the time to write, but have made a promise to myself that starting this week I am going to make a point of planning out the time I need to devote to maknwaves, no matter how busy I may be. Since we are a few days into June I decided that I better get on my “Favorite Things: May [...] […] Continue reading →
This weekend we headed back up to Burlington since my sister was graduating from college! My parents decided to rent a condo in the nearby town of Stowe, Vermont so Friday morning we all piled in the car and headed up north for the weekend. My sister’s graduation wasn’t until Sunday afternoon so we had all weekend to just hang out and enjoy the fun atmosphere the area has to offer. Friday night we went to American Flatbread in Burlington which specializes in homemade […] Continue reading →
After visiting Stowe, Vermont and realizing that our plans for a hike were going to have to be put on hold, we immediately filled the rest of our afternoon with an abundance of fun stops! First up was the Cold Hollow Cider Mill which my sister was raving about so we obviously had to pop in for a visit. The Cider Mill had a ton of cider related things to try like a huge vat of ice-cold cider to take unlimited samples of, apple-cider cracker spreads, cider cooked hot dogs, and finally cider […] Continue reading →
I had never been to Stowe before so my sister thought it would be fun to drive on up there and go for an easy hike just to get some exercise and check out the views. Her boyfriend decided to come along too so the four of us headed out around noon on Saturday for the 40 minute drive up to Stowe. Unfortunately, Stowe had recently gotten some snow and the road leading to where we had wanted to hike was closed. It was a bummer not being able to hike, but Mike and I only had sneakers and it [...] […] Continue reading →
I cannot believe how quickly April flew by! Between Easter, Yoga Training, and my Birthday the month seemed to start and end in the blink of an eye. Since today in May 1st I have decided to start a new series of posts on the first of every month that look back over the previous month and highlight ten of my favorite posts. This way if any of you were super busy, went on vacation, or are just really behind on your blog reading you can get a cliff notes version of the last month in one post. […] Continue reading →
Like I said before Mike and I decided to go up north to Burlington, Vermont this weekend for my birthday. Since both of my sisters go to school in Vermont I thought it would be a ton of fun to go up and visit them and I was right! I just wish the temperature had been a little bit warmer, a few weeks ago it was 85 degrees in Burlington but last weekend the temperature didn’t get above 40. What can you do, crazy New England weather! We got to Burlington on Friday afternoon and after […] Continue reading →
Today is a really special day in Boston! It is the 100 year anniversary of our beloved and historic Fenway Park. Though generations have come and gone, Fenway Park remains, much like it did the day it opened on April 20, 1912. While some people criticize Boston for not updating the baseball park of the Boston Red Sox, I applaud our city for not giving into the temptations of more money and a modern-day baseball stadium. While our seats may be cramped and sometimes our views obstructed, we […] Continue reading →
