On Repeat

beach

Do you ever find yourself so in love with a new recipe, a new song, an outfit…whatever it may be, that you put your new obsession of choice on repeat a little bit in your own life? I am definitely going through one of those phases right now. Here are the few things which I am absolutely loving and are totally on repeat. This song: Wild Ones by Flo Rida ft. Sia, has been on repeat in my car, and is quickly becoming the bain of Mike existence I think. Sorry, but I’m not sorry it […] Continue reading →

If there is anyway that you could possibly be starting your day off, tired, irritated, or just somehow got out of bed on the wrong side this morning, stop what you are doing and listen to this song. I guarantee that there is no way you cannot get a little perk up from it. And if it doesn’t seem to work the first time try listening to it on repeat for the next fifteen minutes with your morning tea or coffee. If you are still headed down the path for a bad mood day I don’t know […] Continue reading →

So unless you have been living under a rock, or have been in hiding for the past 6 months or so you should be aware that the Hungar Games Movie comes out today! I started reading the trilogy of books way back in September when Mike and I went to Bali and literally tore through them. They are all immediately captivating and really keep you hooked and wanting more until the very end. I have to admit though that I was a little bit let down by the way the last book ended. I wont reveal anything […] Continue reading →

sunshine

It is an absolutely amazing day out here in New England! I really cant believe that it is 55 degrees and perfectly sunny in February! I am loving this being a total and complete lover of everything sunny and warm. If you have caught on from my blog name or my about me page I am definitely a beach and summer lover and this song is making me feel all the more perky on a beautiful day like today. It makes me think that summer beaches, ocean swimming, kayaking, early morning runs, and sunset […] Continue reading →

racing in the rain book cover

I just finished reading this book after hearing lots of great reviews and I would have to agree that this book really was great. If you have ever owned a dog who had a strong personality this book really makes you think more about what really does go on inside your dog’s head. The book follows the thoughts of a dog named Enzo and his relationship to his owner Denny, and Denny’s wife and child. While I felt like the story of this book for the most part actually had a sad feeling […] Continue reading →

American Wife

american wife

I actually read this book awhile ago and totally forgot to do a book review on it, but since I have been seeing it pop up on a bunch of people’s reading lists I figured better late than never… What would it be like to be the wife to the President of the United States? That is honestly something I really never thought about until I read this book. Not that, that is really in the cards for me For the most part I don’t think that being the wife of the President is a dream […] Continue reading →

The Gendarme

Gendarme.indd

Now that I am pretty much all caught up on traveling how about we talk about some books… The Gendarme was one of the books I read on my flight back from Bali and I really loved this book. The novel takes place both in the past and present memory of a former Turkish soldier, Emmett Conn. Emmett is 92 when he begins to have dreams about his involvement in the Armenian Genocide. In his dreams Emmett remembers bits and pieces of his murderous actions as a  Turkish gendarme in the forced […] Continue reading →

The Wild Vine

20080820003521_img_9759pixelpost

The Wild Vine was one of the many books that I read while flying around the world to Bali. This book I have to say was absolutely amazing! I have always been interested in the process of wine making, my Dad actually used to make it when I was a kid, and my Italian family has always been loyal wine drinkers, but it wasn’t until recently that I really started to develop an interest in the history of wine. Too bad I couldn’t have discovered this interest while I was living in […] Continue reading →

books

This had been a big question in the back of my mind when planning out trip to Bali. Since I had never been on a plane for that long of an amount of time before I knew that I was going to need a lot to keep me entertained. I am also not the best plane sleeper so I knew that I was going to have to rely on the plane’s movies and books to keep me entertained. We bought an awesome travel guide-book from lonely planet that took up some of my time but in total between flight times [...] […] Continue reading →
