Lately my life has been pretty chaotic to say the least. Between my wonderful new job working at Lululemon (with some amazing people), school work, graduate school applications, and teaching yoga I have a very packed schedule these days. While I may not be feeling my very best at the moment due to a head cold, I have to say that I am absolutely loving my new life and choice for my career. It is amazing how many things have just fallen into place since I made the decision to leave my […] Continue reading →
Hey There! I am sure you guys are noticing a few new things going on over here, the main one most likely being the blog re-design and name change which I just released about a week or so ago. While I loved my original “maknwaves” title a lot of really exciting things have been happening over here these days and I just knew that I really needed to change my brand name to something that really exemplifies me, my lifestyle, and would be a name that I could grow with. So enter Eat […] Continue reading →
Wow it has been FOREVER since I was able to sit down and write on maknwaves. I sure have missed it! But don’t you all worry I have not forgotten about you and definitely have no plans for stopping blogging, I just have had a pretty crazy month and a half to say the least. Let me fill you in on what has been going on… For close to a year now I haven’t been very happy with my corporate America marketing business job. While I do love marketing/design/advertising I […] Continue reading →
If you haven’t tried my deck of cards circuit workout you really need to! Find a time sometime this week or weekend to set aside about an hour to an hour and a half and I promise you will be crawling your way back to your car it is such a good workout. My favorite part about this workout is that it keeps things creative while really taking you outside of your comfort zone. In my own personal fitness experience I have always gravitated to the types of fitness that I feel comfortable in […] Continue reading →
I cannot believe how quickly April flew by! Between Easter, Yoga Training, and my Birthday the month seemed to start and end in the blink of an eye. Since today in May 1st I have decided to start a new series of posts on the first of every month that look back over the previous month and highlight ten of my favorite posts. This way if any of you were super busy, went on vacation, or are just really behind on your blog reading you can get a cliff notes version of the last month in one post. […] Continue reading →
Life has been a little bit crazy the past two weeks and I unfortunately have to admit that I haven’t been getting in as many workouts as I should be. However, all of that is going to change this week as I kick my butt back into a steady routine. It is amazing to me how addicted to exercise I can get when I am in a solid workout routine, however if I ever fall of the bandwagon it can sometimes seem impossible to really get back into a good workout flow. With the hot weather and beach […] Continue reading →
Guess what I mastered this weekend?!? It took a few tries, and I have some pretty nasty rug burns on my elbows, but once I did it, it was kind of like I couldn’t have imagined not being able to do it before. This scorpion pose is honestly one that now I feel like I could kind of just hang out in. So for all of you out there that have been too nervous to give it a try, just go for it! Not to mention you feel pretty cool being able to bust this bad boy out. […] Continue reading →
Lotus Peacock Pose If there is anyone out there who still thinks that yoga is too easy of a workout, I would like to see them try and attempt this posture. Basically I think it screams two things… One: Want to watch me fly? and Two: Ya I do Yoga, and I’m a badass Happy Friday Everyone! Try something today that is going to push you to your limits. Who knows maybe you could wind up defying gravity too. […] Continue reading →
Since I have been doing a TON of Sun Salutations lately I thought it would be nice to actually show you all what a Sun Salutation is and how you do it. This is an awesome warm up flow for yoga lovers, or is a great way to transition into practicing yoga as a new beginner. Why not even take your Sun Salutation outside for a nice outdoor practice in the warm sun. Maybe your Sun Salutation will bring on a little more warm weather! There are a ton of different variation so sun salutations but […] Continue reading →
While this weekend was filled to the brim with fun Saint Patty’s Day celebrations I think the highlight of my weekend had to be passing my yoga teaching practical Friday night. I have been student teaching now for a few weeks and on Friday I had my practical which basically is where one of my teachers from my yoga teacher training comes to my class and decides whether or not I am a good enough teacher to actually run my own classes without the “student” label. Although all […] Continue reading →
