I recently began partnering with Tribe Sports and I am so excited! If you have not heard of them you definitely need to sign up for an account and check out their website. Basically Tribe Sports brings athletes and health enthusiasts from around the world together to participate in Virtual Challenges. I know personally that sometimes I can get bored with my own workout routine or challenges that I set for myself. I also usually find myself coming back to the areas I am comfortable in and […] Continue reading →

So how did everyone’s Easter go? Mine was pretty nice and local with just my family and Mike. I made lots of great Paleo Treats which I will share with you soon and really only went off our Clean Eating Challenge by having a few Jelly Beans. Surprisingly I really didn’t even like them after a few, I almost feel as though my taste buds are getting more accustomed to natural forms of sugar, at more reasonable quantities…could that be possible? Anyway after I posted this […] Continue reading →

Sprint Workout

runner

One of my goals during our Clean Eating Spring Challenge is to be able to run a mile in under 7 minutes. I used to be able to run much faster than that when I was running in college, but over the past few years I really haven’t done very much speed work and instead got more into long distance running (at slower speeds) and yoga. However, I really love to run fast and so instead of feeling overwhelmed with needing to get in some high mileage, I decided to try and instead focus on […] Continue reading →

As soon as the weather starts getting nice I try my absolute best to avoid the gym at all costs. It really isn’t that difficult to avoid when my non-gym options consist of running on the beach, hiking, kayaking, aqua jogging in my pool, etc. I always feel so much better when I get to have an awesome workout that allows both my body and my mind to just break away from technology and society for an hour or two. When I am working out in a gym, allowing myself to let go of the stresses of […] Continue reading →

I cannot believe how quickly May flew by and I am so sorry that I have been so MIA these past few weeks! I have had a lot going on lately that has been keeping me from being able to have the time to write, but have made a promise to myself that starting this week I am going to make a point of planning out the time I need to devote to maknwaves, no matter how busy I may be. Since we are a few days into June I decided that I better get on my “Favorite Things: May [...] […] Continue reading →

This weekend we headed back up to Burlington since my sister was graduating from college! My parents decided to rent a condo in the nearby town of Stowe, Vermont so Friday morning we all piled in the car and headed up north for the weekend. My sister’s graduation wasn’t until Sunday afternoon so we had all weekend to just hang out and enjoy the fun atmosphere the area has to offer.   Friday night we went to American Flatbread in Burlington which specializes in homemade […] Continue reading →

Hey guys! Sorry for being MIA yesterday, it was a pretty hectic day at work to say the least and then I had to go directly to my yoga teacher training so I just never had the time to write. It really bums me out when I don’t have the time to write in a day though since it really has become such a way for me to relax and sometimes it is the only time in my day when I am really getting to focus on things that really matter to me. Anyway today is hopefully going to be [...] […] Continue reading →

45 Min Killer Circuit Workout large

If you haven’t tried my deck of cards circuit workout you really need to! Find a time sometime this week or weekend to set aside about an hour to an hour and a half and I promise you will be crawling your way back to your car it is such a good workout. My favorite part about this workout is that it keeps things creative while really taking you outside of your comfort zone. In my own personal fitness experience I have always gravitated to the types of fitness that I feel comfortable in […] Continue reading →

game of thrones picture 3

Is anyone else out there as obsessed with The Game of Thrones as I am?! I watched the first 20 minutes of the first episode when the show began and since I am a big baby when it comes to scary things (ex: I strongly believe that ET is one of the scariest characters ever created) I immediately told Mike to shut it off after the scary white walkers showed up and refused to ever watch it again. Then a few weeks ago Mike was watching one of the episodes from Season Two and I got totally hooked. […] Continue reading →

I was really feeling like an intense cardio workout at lunch time but I didn’t have too much time so I decided to head on down to our company gym and bang out a quick and dirty treadmill workout that would be sure to kick my butt! I have been all about the interval workouts lately since they are proven to work you just as hard as a consistent speed workout in half the time. Basically, you will get better results in a workout the includes 1 minute of rest with 1 minute of high […] Continue reading →
