Do you ever find yourself so in love with a new recipe, a new song, an outfit…whatever it may be, that you put your new obsession of choice on repeat a little bit in your own life? I am definitely going through one of those phases right now. Here are the few things which I am absolutely loving and are totally on repeat. This song: Wild Ones by Flo Rida ft. Sia, has been on repeat in my car, and is quickly becoming the bain of Mike existence I think. Sorry, but I’m not sorry it […] Continue reading →
Happy Marathon Monday Everyone! Today is by far one of the most exciting days of the year up here in the Boston area. The Boston Marathon is the most competitive non-professional marathon there is and in its 116th year we are expecting a pretty intense marathon this year. With temperatures expecting to rise well into the 80s The Boston Athletic Association as well as Boston’s Mayor Menino is asking that only the fittest of runners who have previously ran a marathon run this year. […] Continue reading →
Summer is right around the corner and like most people I don’t want to go into summer feeling self-conscious at the beach. Since I do tend to do my fair share of working out already, when summer is coming up I like to find ways to switch it up a bit so that I am less likely to plateau or get bored with my average workout and skip it. While strength training has really been keeping my attention level high during my workouts, I still wanted to come up with some kind of circuit training […] Continue reading →
Take a Running Lunch. Literally. Now before you tell me you don’t have time, I am going to tell you that you do. I went almost an entire year literally not taking a single lunch break. I would work like a mad woman from 8-5 hardly ever leaving my desk, eating lunch in between projects at my computer. Then I realized that I am a marketer not a brain surgeon, and my legally mandated lunch break was something that I was entitled to and should use, every day, however I want to. So instead […] Continue reading →
It is literally 85 degrees out right now and I am absolutely loving it! I cannot believe that we are actually getting a Spring this year…or have we moved right on into summer because lets be serious 85 degrees is perfect beach weather. I know some people are sad that the ski season didn’t last longer but I am not one to complain. Since moving back to New England one of the main things I have missed the most is the beautiful Spring we used to get in the DC area. Come this time of […] Continue reading →
So I mentioned over the weekend that I needed to break away a little bit from my cardio addiction and try to make my fitness routine more well-rounded. I think all along what has been keeping me from really getting into strength training was 1.) worrying that I was going to “bulk up”, which I now am completely aware is a total myth 2.) feeling as though I really had no idea what exactly I should be doing. I always felt really awkward not having much of a strength training plan […] Continue reading →
Okay I will admit it I am ABSOLUTELY a cardio addict. I love the feeling of my heart rate rising and sweat pouring out of me with each workout. This is probably why I have always gravitated to activities such as marathons, hot yoga, long days laying in the sun at the beach…maybe not the best example but you get the point. If you are a fellow cardio addict you probably don’t feel like you have even gotten remotely close to a hard workout without at least 45 minutes of cardio […] Continue reading →

So it hasn’t been the best week so far in terms of being able to stick with my training…meaning I wasn’t able to train at all! The week first started out with a minor issue with my foot that was going to sideline we for a few days and then I caught a stomach bug. Needless to say I haven’t been feeling to great and have been so frustrated to get sidelined right as I am trying to get back in the groove of training. I have an all day long yoga teacher training class […] Continue reading →
Talk about a serious workout to get me back into shape. Interval running + strength training really has a way of completely wiping me out! Since I wasn’t feeling entirely ready for some of my planned runs on my marathon training schedule I decided to try to get my cardio back where it needs to be with some intervals. I love doing intervals especially on the treadmill because it makes the time go by so much faster! I recently tried this interval workout from Sweet Tooth Sweet Life […] Continue reading →
