Abs On Fire!

abs1

Ever since my competitive gymnastics days I have LOVED doing abs! Some people may think I am crazy, but I really do love the feeling of my core lighting on fire and since your core is the foundation to good form and stability in both fitness and your daily life it is probably the most important area of your body to work of keeping strong. But what exactly is your core? The most common misconception is that your core only consists of what everyone knows as the “6 pack” but there […] Continue reading →

blackberries

Yay it is finally Friday! This week actually really flew by for me since work was a tad bit on the crazy side, but thank goodness it is finally the end of the work week and the sun has finally decided to make an appearance again. If you feel like starting your day off with a bang or would like to include this as a great post-morning workout snack try giving my Blackberry-Banana Protein Packed Smoothie a shot. It is absolutely delicious and completely loaded to the brim with antioxidants and […] Continue reading →

Braid Away

waterfall twist

Braids once again are all the rage this season and I couldn’t be happier. Ever since I was a little kid I have loved braids! They work on people of all ages from kids to adults. They can be used to keep hair out of your face during a workout, or a quick fix when you are running late in the morning and don’t have time to shower before work. Since I have a lot of hair braids have always been my best companion for looking put together in a flash! The best thing about braids is that […] Continue reading →

strong2

I have been following my Live Fit Strength Training plan for about two and a half weeks now and I have got to tell you that adding it to my workout routine has really been a huge awakening for me in terms of fitness. I always thought of myself as being very fit because of the amount of cardio and yoga I do, and while yoga absolutely is a kind of strength training, I have been amazed as to how sore I have been from following the Live Fit Strength Training plan. I may be “fit” in […] Continue reading →

positive

I have always been a believer in the powers of positive energy. Basically thinking that the more positive thoughts and actions we project out into the world the more positive things will come back to us. Now obviously this is not always the case, and there definitely seems to be no rhyme or reason as to who reaps the benefits of positive energy, but overall I really do think that by trying to maintain a positive outlook throughout our lives good things are bound to come back to us. Maybe it […] Continue reading →

smile

If there is anyway that you could possibly be starting your day off, tired, irritated, or just somehow got out of bed on the wrong side this morning, stop what you are doing and listen to this song. I guarantee that there is no way you cannot get a little perk up from it. And if it doesn’t seem to work the first time try listening to it on repeat for the next fifteen minutes with your morning tea or coffee. If you are still headed down the path for a bad mood day I don’t know […] Continue reading →

lunch

Take a Running Lunch. Literally. Now before you tell me you don’t have time, I am going to tell you that you do. I went almost an entire year literally not taking a single lunch break. I would work like a mad woman from 8-5 hardly ever leaving my desk, eating lunch in between projects at my computer. Then I realized that I am a marketer not a brain surgeon, and my legally mandated lunch break was something that I was entitled to and should use, every day, however I want to. So instead […] Continue reading →

Lettuce Wraps

I really need to make a point of making lettuce wraps more. They are super simple to whip up, really good for you, and absolutely delicious.  Since the base of this meal is just a lettuce leaf you really need to include something in the wrap that has some protein to it in order to satisfy your hunger. I love adding beans like chick peas or black beans for a good source of protein in lettuce wraps, or shrimp and tofu are also great options. Vegetarian Lettuce Wraps: Lettuce Wraps […] Continue reading →

fashion trends header

Is anyone else totally loving all the fun fashion trends coming out for Spring this year?! I am literally in love with all the color blocking, pastels, prints, and bright colors I have been seeing. I definitely took a bit of a hiatus from my fashion posts the past few months because honestly I had just gotten go bored with everything winter, but now that the sun in shining and we are entering into my favorite time of year I will be sure to be including you all on the fun fashion trends I am […] Continue reading →
