bali umbrellas

We are SO excited! Mike and I haven’t been on a real long vacation since I started my “grown up” job so we were thrilled to make this somewhat last minute/spontaneous decision. We are going to be spending ten days in Bali this coming Fall and we are both just ecstatic about it. I have actually never been to Southeast Asia before and so I cant wait to dive into the culture and the traditions. I know it is going to be amazing! Mike actually lived in Vietnam for about […] Continue reading →

I think you may have realized by now how much I love the ocean, so it is no wonder that I love seaglass. As a little kid I used to collect a ton of it and as I have gotten older I have used it for jewelry, art, and even decoration. This past weekend for our two year anniversary Mike bought me the most perfect ring! No not a diamond…but a yellow seaglass ring wrapped in sterling silver. If you know anything about seaglass you know that yellow is a very rare color to find and with […] Continue reading →

Rice Couscous

For all you gluten free people out there this stuff is awesome! My Mom and I recently discovered this brand of rice couscous from Lundberg Farms. It comes in a bunch of different flavors and is absolutely delicious! I love to make this with a whole bunch of roasted summer vegetables on the grill. I for one was very sad when I went gluten free and could no longer eat couscous, but this stuff tastes almost exactly the same and is a great substitute. I had a hard time finding this at first […] Continue reading →

Like I have mentioned before I have a serious nack/obsession for trolling the cheap flight deal sites and finding great deals at a moments notice. This past Christmas I was starting to feel my travel bug start to creep up again so I began searching for flights anywhere. Anywhere that wasn’t New England. It was then that I stumbled upon an amazing flight deal to Ireland that I just couldn’t pass up. I had already been to Ireland once before when a few of my best friends lived […] Continue reading →

Bruschetta

bruschetta

Bruschetta can be made a million different ways but I have got to say that I like how I make it best. I think that Bruschetta is the perfect side dish to any Italian meal and it can take less than 20 minutes to prepare from start to finish. My family loves this Bruschetta recipe and it always seems to fly off the table every time I make it along side dinner. Ingredients: One long French Baguette, 4 ripe vine tomatoes, 10 basil leaves, extra virgin olive oil, 1 ball fresh mozzarella, sea […] Continue reading →

I love this bracelet! Mike gave me a gift certificate for Christmas last year to this seaglass jewelry designers shop and I have fallen completely in love with the bracelet I bought. At her studio you can choose/bring in the seaglass that you want to be used in your piece and then the artist melts sterling silver around the pieces of glass to form a bracelet. It is so unique and fits my personality perfectly. I can’t wait to go back and buy more! […] Continue reading →

nyc-luxury-apartments

I recently went to visit a few of my best friends in NYC. Two of them have both just moved into sweet apartments, one on the lower east side and one on the upper east side. I took the Bolt Bus down out of New England because it is super cheap and has free wifi. I would definitely recommend taking the Bolt Bus to any of their locations but if you have the funds my first choice would always be Amtrak. My Dad was nice enough to give me one of his free Amtrak tickets that he had acquired from [...] […] Continue reading →

What a nice weekend! Mike and I went out to Nantucket last weekend to celebrate our two-year anniversary. He has some family members who are native Nantucket islanders so we lucked out big time and got to stay for free. His Aunt, Uncle and Cousins were so nice and friendly and it was great to meet some more people from his Dad’s side of the family. I have been out to Nantucket a bunch of times before but this time was really nice since it was only Mike’s second time being on the […] Continue reading →

Growing up my family actually had a house on Cape Cod. We would go down every weekend and usually a few weeks out of every summer. My sisters and I loved the area as kids because it was great to ride bikes, and we could walk right down the street to the beach. We had some amazing memories at that house on the Cape and I will always associate my childhood summer memories with Cape Cod. I’ve got to say though that I don’t think we ever fully appreciated it. We were completely […] Continue reading →
